IBM anuncia un nuevo disco para el Storwize V7000

IBM ha anunciado hoy dos opciones para el nuevo disco V7000 Storwize en el Small Form Factor de 2,5 pulgadas.


- 300 GB 15000 RPM SAS 2.5-inch disk drive
- 1 TB 7200 RPM Nearline (NL) SAS 2.5-inch disk drive

1624 Controller configuration has unsupported RDAC mode.


Explanation

SAN Volume Controller has detected that an IBM DS series disk controller's configuration is not supported by SAN Volume Controller. The disk controller is operating in RDAC mode. The disk controller might appear to be operating with SAN Volume Controller; however, the configuration is unsupported because it is known to not work with SAN Volume Controller.

Action

1. Using the IBM DS series console, ensure that the host type is set to 'IBM TS SAN VCE' and that the AVT option is enabled. (The AVT and RDAC options are mutually exclusive).

2. Mark the error that you have just repaired as "fixed". If the problem has not been fixed it will be logged again; this could take a few minutes.

3. Go to repair verification MAP.

Al realizar la primer configuración del Tivoli Storage Agent en AIX surge el siguiente error:

Ambiente:

TSM Sever: 5.5.4 (Windows 2003)
TSM BA aix: 5.5.2 (aix 6.1)
TSM sta: 5.5.0

REDUCIR EL TAMAÑO DE LA BASE DE DATOS

1. Create a file containing a list of directories that represent the new directories.

For example, dbdirs.txt.

2. Run a full database backup. For example:

backup db devclass=tapeclass type=full

3. Halt the server.

4. Remove the database instance.

dsmserv removedb TSMDB1

5. Restore the database specifying the file containing the directories to be used.

For example:

dsmserv restore db todate=today on=dbdirs.txt

6. Restart the server.

Error SQL2033N con codigo 2041

Al hacer backup desde un DB2 usando TSM como gestor de backups, apareció un error bastante raro:

SQL2033N An error occurred while accessing TSM during the processing of a database utility. TSM reason code: "2041"

Datos del ambiente:
Servidor TSM: Versión 5.5.4, Windows 2003 x64
Servidor DB2: Versión 9.5, Windows 2003 x64

Segun la literatura, puede tener muchas causas el error SQL2033N, segun el codigo de error por parte de TSM, pero no aparece el codigo 2041, y menos aparece en ninguna busqueda en internet.

SOLUCION: REINICIAR EL WINDOWS CON DB2,
